    Happening this week

    Ikebana

Ikebana is the Japanese art of flower arrangement, but its essence goes far beyond placing blossoms in a vase. It’s a disciplined, almost meditative practice that emphasizes harmony among natural elements—flowers, branches, leaves—and the space around them. Rather than striving for fullness or symmetry, ikebana highlights line, balance, and intentionality, often using minimalism and asymmetry to evoke a sense of calm and natural beauty. Rooted in traditions dating back to early Buddhist floral offerings, it has evolved into a refined art form that treats each stem as a living material with its own character and movement.
